Communications Role
We do this by:
-
advising government agencies on ways to communicate effectively with Pacific peoples
-
liaising with Pacific communities in New Zealand to ensure that they know about government policies and services of relevance to them, and to foster greater participation by Pacific peoples in decision-making
-
facilitating public meetings and community fono to enable Pacific peoples’ input into policy issues and to exchange information
-
providing news, advice and information through print media, including newsletters and direct mail
-
using electronic media, including CDs, radio and video to convey information and advice
-
maintaining the Ministry's website on the Internet.
