Central region

The central region team is based in the Wellington office and covers the following areas:

Wellington (central), the greater Wellington region (Porirua, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, Kapiti Coast), Wairarapa (Masterton), Manawatu (Palmerston North), Hawkes Bay (Napier / Hastings), Taranaki (New Plymouth), Whangnui, South Waikato (Taupo) and Poverty Bay (Gisborne).

We work closely with the regional offices, based in Christchurch and Auckland, and the national regional manager to share information and resources and maintain a national consistency of services.

We also support the Ministry's vision by connecting government agencies or services with local communities; holding community information meetings or fono; providing specialist advice to government agencies on Pacific issues; encouraging Pacific people to access services and funding support.

Our e-newsletter & events calendar

To enhance communications between government and the Pacific community the central region compiles a weekly e-newsletter.

Our weekly e-newsletter keeps you informed with what is happening in the Pacific community by listing events, important information, links to resources and announcements from both central and local government.

Pacific community organisations can also use this e-newsletter to publicise events.  It is distributed to our growing database of Pacific people.
