Department of Labour

The Department of Labour’s website provides information on the labour market, employment conditions for both employers and employees, labour market research, and work schemes.

 

Department of Immigration

On the Department of Labour’s Immigration website, you will find information about life in New Zealand, applying for immigration and settling here, about education, employment and work schemes such as the recognised seasonal worker scheme. 

 

Worksite/PaeMahi

Worksite/PaeMahi is the government’s website about all aspects of employment in New Zealand. It provides links and the latest information on everything to do with work and training in New Zealand.

 

Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education’s mission is to raise achievement and reduce disparity. Its website contains information on early childhood, schools and tertiary education.  It features a special section on Pasifika Education. 

 

Ministry of Health

The Ministry of Health aims to ensure that the health and disability system works for all New Zealanders.  Its website provides easy access to up-to-date information on the structure of the health system in New Zealand, on health legislation and regulations, on public health and national screening services.

Housing New Zealand provides New Zealanders with access to good quality, affordable homes. It is also the government's main advisor on housing, and housing services.  Its website provides information on housing schemes for new settlers, and about a free course on how to go about getting your first home.

Ministry of Economic Development

This Ministry offers support and advice on business opportunities New Zealand and consumer affairs. 

 

New Zealand Police

Land Transport Safety Authority.

The LTSA website provides information about driver licensing and land transport issues throughout New Zealand, including advice on road safety and security.

 

Career Services

The Career Services website www.careers.govt.nz  gives helpful information on career pathways and study options.  It includes a section directed at Pasifika, with information about career fono and workshops for senior Pasifika students around the country.  It also provides a freephone number you can call to discuss careers and the skills or qualifications required, to help you with decisions about training or work.
