Our regional offices are our strongest link with communities. The Ministry has offices in Auckland, Christchurch and Wellington (Head office):
Auckland
Our Auckland office is located in Manukau City with staff who work with Pacific communities to ensure there is good awareness of current government policies and programmes.
The Auckland office works to implement the 'Auckland Pacific Strategy' (PDF) which was developed in late 2009 after extensive discussion with key Pacific leaders.
Our South Island office is involved in a number of projects and initiatives in Christchurch and throughout the South Island of New Zealand.
The Christchurch office exists to promote and support the Ministry’s vision, “successful Pacific peoples” throughout the South Island. In doing so, the office acts as a conduit of information between agencies and the community.
It does this by linking agencies with local community groups, holding community meetings, and supporting agencies as they respond to issues pertinent to Pacific communities in the region.
Over time, the office has developed a very close relationship with Pacific communities in Christchurch. The Ministry has recently developed an extensive network of relationships with Pacific groups in regional areas of the South Island.
Wellington is home to our head office. Our team works with Pacific communities in Wellington and throughout the region to ensure there is good awareness of current government policies and programmes.
