Collection and use of personal information
We collect information from you when you sign up to one of our newsletters. We will ask you for your email address so we can send you future newsletters. Your email address details will be stored in a secure third-party database in Australia. When you unsubscribe (ask to be removed) from our newsletter mailing list, your details will be permanently deleted from that database.
MPP also collects information from you when you fill out an online form. Depending on the form, you may be asked to provide the following information:
We use this information so our staff can consider your application or registration, or to contact you. We may also use your information for analysing or reporting, but in ways that won’t personally identify you (for example, removing names and grouping anonymised information.)
Sometimes MPP may need to collect some personal information about you from other people, such as contacting referees or making a criminal history check. If we need to do this, we will let you know, explain why and ask for your permission first.
Another way we collect information about people is by using ‘cookies’ on our MPP website. We use cookies to collect basic technical information such as your IP address, date and time that you used our website, your search terms and pages and links you visited. We collect that information to make our website more useful to future users. We will never use that information to try to identify you. Security of personal information
MPP has security measures in place to protect against the theft, loss or unauthorised access of personal information under our control. Any personal information we collect is safely stored in databases in Australia and New Zealand. We will store your information only for as long as we need it, and only for the purpose you allowed MPP to collect it for.
Disclosure of personal information
We might need to disclose (share) your personal information to other approved agencies that carry out work on our behalf. If we need to do that, we will ensure that those agencies comply with New Zealand privacy laws, even where those agencies are based overseas.
We will otherwise only disclose your personal information with your consent or if required or authorised by law.
We will never sell your information.
Your rights and choices
You can ask for access to the personal information MPP holds about you at any time under the Privacy Act 2020. If the information we hold about you is wrong, please ask us to correct it.
